A lawsuit filed Tuesday by several dispensaries and an advocacy group claims the measure violates is unconstitutional and would close virtually all the city's pot dispensaries.
An ordinance approved last month by the mayor is designed to curb the hundreds of dispensaries that opened across Los Angeles in recent years.
The lawsuit say dispensaries have only seven days after the law takes effect on March 14 to find a new location if they're too close to schools, churches, or other sensitive areas. The lawsuit also claims a provision banning dispensaries near homes rules out nearly all commercial areas.
A spokesman says the city attorney's office had no comment.
Americans for Safe Access is among five plaintiffs.
