I found myself in this situation where I wanted to help, but just didn't have the extra funds, and discovered a way to still be able to contribute.
Coca-Cola has a reward points program where you enter codes from bottle caps and cartons to an online account you setup with Coke and then you can redeem your points for all sorts of things.
You'll find everything from Coke T-shirts and products, to gift cards for movies and restaurants, magazine subscriptions, downloads and more. But what you will also find is a way to turn your points into aid for the people of HAITI.

American Red Cross Haiti Relief Fund
On January 12, a series of earthquakes devastated Haiti. Working with our various partners, Coca-Cola quickly mobilized to support relief efforts. Coca-Cola and The Coca-Cola Foundation donated $2 million dollars to the Red Cross and we are donating nearly 100,000 bottles of water per day through other partner organizations. We are also leveraging our broadcast and digital media to generate awareness and raise much needed funds for The Red Cross. With your help we can do more. You can give your My Coke Rewards points to help those affected by the Haitian earthquake. To get started, collect specially marked Coke Rewards codes (ask family and friends to help out in this effort!). Then go to the mycokerewards.com website, create an account (if you don't have one already) and enter your codes.
Once enough points are accumulated (min donation is 35 points) then you can go and spend the points on a truly noble cause.
From the top menu select Spend Your Points > Support a Good Cause. Once the next page loads you should see American Red Cross Haiti Relief Fund. Click on Donate Points, follow the instructions on the screen and you're done.
If everyone contributes a little bit...it could truly go a long way and save the lives of hundreds if not thousands in Haiti.
