CALL TO ACTION: Los Angeles May Lose Their Local Dispensaries Early November

A proposal to ban all sales of medical marijuana in the city is unlikely to be taken up next week. Aides to Councilman Smith say he supports the ban and believes it would force most dispensaries to close...
[full article]

What does this mean for the medical marijuana patients in Los Angeles? The existence of your local dispensaries is at stake. Sure there are other cities around (thankfully) within a reasonable distance but this, to me, would seem like an anti-green move.

What this would do is force patients to commute the already congested streets and highways of Los Angeles increasing traffic and pollution. Apparently sitting in LA traffic, breathing in the smog and pollution from other vehicles is safer for you than inhaling marijuana. How about the cost of gas your car would need to consume to get you from home to your dispensary and back. Some just don't have the money for that, especially during these trying times.

If the City Council of Los Angeles passes this ban, they will be doing a huge disservice, to its very own citizens, in a number of ways. The greatest disservice this would bring to patients is that they would be affected by essentially being forced to drive further to obtain their medications. In this instance it is a clear demonstration of the lack of compassion. When you delay someone's relief from pain and suffering, you become a tyrant.

So what can you do?
Contact you Councilman and respectfully share with them your position on this proposed ordinance. The time to take action is seriously RUNNING OUT. Here is a link that will help you find the contact information for your local representative:
